Get Lost or Not in Our Three Mile Corn Maze!
Bring the whole family and escape into another world for a few hours by challenging our three mile corn maze. Negotiate the myriad pathways through the cornstalks that rise over seven feet in height throughout the course. The roomy pathways are easy to negotiate and there are no obstacles other than deciding which of the many paths to follow. Each year we offer a completely different themed set of mazes. There are two separate mazes within the design, a 1 mile maze and a 2 mile maze, each of which negotiates the original design elements of the maze. Each maze has a separate entrance and access to both mazes is included with each entrance ticket. There are 12 numbered stations hidden within the two mazes, six stations in each maze. Each contains an individually shaped paper punch so that maze runners can punch their cards to track their progress through the maze. Those who successfully complete the two mazes can turn in their punch cards to become eligible for a grand prize drawing as well a number of other prizes, such as gift certificates, iTunes and gas cards, at the end of the season.
Each year a new maze design is cut into the field during mid-July when the corn is young by Shawn Stolworthy of MazePlay, a design and GPS consultant firm from Firth, Idaho. Once the year’s design is approved, Stolworthy arrives at the cornfield at the appointed time, unloads his tractor and cuts the field in about three hours sometimes even after dark totally directed by a Global Positioning System driven device that he devised as part of his maze-cutting business. Stolworthy cuts more than 80 corn mazes during his season all over America and Canada. Stolworthy has cut five mazes at Mazza Farms in as many years and this is only one of three in New England. The other two are located in Connecticut. For a look at the other Stolworthy mazes, visit his web site at www.mazeplay.com.
